The PanAmerican Games held in Guadelajara/Mexico from 23rd to 30th October generated some high class performances by AfS athletes at the end of the season.Colombian World Championships Bronze medalist triple jumper Caterine Ibarguen underlined once again her exeptional position in the world elite. Ibarguen won the triple jump infront by far of Cuban Olympic Champion Yargelis Savigne with 14m92. Her first PanAmerican title in her career.
110m Hurdler Paulo Villar surprised with a new Personal Best and National record of 13.27s with winning the Silver medal. Villar, who suffered this and last year with injuries, presented himself in the best shape of his life. He will now focus to participate for the next indoor season in Europe with the highlight of the World Indoor Championships 2012 in Istanbul.
