AfS organizes Athletes´ Liaison for Athletics Meeting in Haldensleben (Germany)

AfS has been given the right for the Athletes´ liaison for the International Athletics Meeting in Haldensleben 2012. The meeting will be held in the city of Haldensleben near Magdeburg (100km west from Berlin) on July 15th, 2012 just 2 weeks before the Olympic Games in London.
Several sponsors has already been secured to guarentee a high quality of events.
Managing Director André Thomson, who took the meetings in Bottrop and Cottbus to leading positions in the World Rankings of international competitions, will look once again into bringing national top athletes and international top performers to this competitions. "The date is perfectly placed for all athletes, specially foreign athletes who resides in Europe during that time, to prepare and test themselves towards the Olympic Games.

Bottrop Gala 2011 2nd best Meeting in Germany

Bottrop Gala 2011 Bottrop made again a big step forward in the ranking of the athletics meetings. The International Sportsevent held in the city of Bottrop ascends in its 5th edition from last year's 6th place to No.2 in the German standings. Only the traditional ISTAF in Berlin, which belongs to the IAAF World Challenge Series, is in front of the Bottrop Gala.
In the world rankings, the Bottrop Gala could also make a huge leap forward. It currently ranks at number 38 in the world (2010 - 69th). So the meeting is in front of a few other high-profile competitions in the world and only one place behind the IAAF Grand Prix in Dakar.

Meeting Director Andre Thomson expressed his delight at the good position of the Bottrop Gala: "2nd place in Germany and 38th worldwide by far surpasses our expectations. That is also a sign of good cooperation between all parties involved in Bottrop and the excellent conditions we have created for the athletes. The overall result will motivate our work, but also the level of the event for the following years is further higher. We put every effort to organize in the Olympic year 2012 a high profile event and we hope to have an even more interest from the economy to such a high profile, international sporting events in the Ruhr region to continue to make progress and support. "
